

Most vacationers that come to the Shuswap Lake come to enjoy the Sunshine, beach, and water activities. You can either bring your own boat or rent boat right at Scotch Creek Cottages (reserve in advance). Explore all four arms of the Shuswap Lake Arms, enjoy the activities at the "Narrows". There are picnic areas (accessible only by boat), floating stores and seadoo rentals.

Shuswap Lake Estates and Salmon Arm Golf Clubs both offer 18 hole Championship of golf, while Anglemont has a very scenic nine hole course. The best bargain in golf is at the Cedar Heights "pitch and putt "course. It is a great starting place for children to learn how to golf at a very reasonable rate. White Water rafting on Adams River and through the gorge attracts canoeists and kayakers alike.
Scotch Creek Family Fun Center offers mini golf, bumper boats, bowling, an arcade, concession stand, and a fine dining restaurant. A wonderful newer addition to the Scotch Creek Area.
If you want a change from Barbecuing in our BBQ gazebo, try out Finz Bar and Grill which offers lakeside family snacks and meals. A beautiful setting to be on a nice day.
Our local wineries have award winning local wines they produce. Larch Hills and Recline Ridge both offer daily wine tasting opportunities. Crannog Ales has opened recently 2 km west of Sorrento and offers tours by appointment. Telephone them at (250) 675 6847.
Salmon Arm offers many opportunities. Unique shopping in places such as DeMilles Sweet Corn and Produce Farm Market, show the children the petting Zoo, or check out the Corn Maze. Picadilly Mall is not just like any other mall, check out the Apple Creek General Merchantile store. Salmar Theatre has four theatres, Haney Heritage Park offers home cooked suppers and lively entertainment, Wednesday on Wharf Concert series is free, community centre has swimming pool, hot tub and a weight room, a farmers market on Tuesday and Friday.
Seasonal Activities
Father's Day Activities. Annual Air Affair at the Salmon Arm airport includes a Pancake breakfast, flea market, aircraft displays, demonstration fly-bys, even airplane and helicopter rides can be arranged. Both Sorrento and Eagle Bay also have community breakfasts served by the Sorrento Lions Club in Sorrento or at the Eagle Bay Hall.
The Shuswap area has many local artists that display and sell their art, crafts and pottery. Painters show first week in July, potters and crafters later in July.
Middle of August is the Roots and Blues Festival and Last week end in August is the Bluegrass Festival in Sorrento.
Salmon Arm Fair is in the fall on the second week end in September and offers a fantastic parade on Saturday morning,grandstand entertainment, concession, rides and a variety of livestock and produce competitions.
The biggest attraction in the Shuswap is the Salmon Run. The best place to view this truly amazing natural phenomenon is in the Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park which the short Adams River runs between the Adams Lake and the Shuswap Lake. This is the spawning ground for the sockeye salmon who are hatched here, migrate to the sea and then return when they are four years old to spawn for the next generation before they die.
