Shuswap Lake Provincial Park
A very talked-about park in BC's Southern Interior is Shuswap Lake Provincial Park. Yearly, thousands of tourists mainly from BC and Alberta camp there. Shuswap Lake Provincial Park is situated on the north shore of Shuswap Lake's major arm, in the community of Scotch Creek. From the city of Salmon Arm, drive about forty five minutes north to get to the park. From the town of Kamloops, the park is about 1 hour's drive east. The massive camp is equipped with a picnic space for day usage, about 275 camp sites, and a big beach of sand and gravel.
Shuswap Lake Park is situated on an old delta of Scotch Creek. The evidence that this was once the site of First Nations settlements is got on the ruins of semi-subterranean pit houses, referred to as Kekuli, utilized by Shuswap First Nations peoples. The park's Nature House contains a Kekuli model renovation, plus the archaeological remains are located inside the park boundaries.
